I bought this as a replacement for an older and much bigger machine that I had.ProsSmall unit, perfect for smaller surfaces.Attractive enough product - nothing too snazzy which I like.Quick to set-up and use out of the box. Just run it through three times using the supplied T-Disc and then start with your chosen coffee pods.Brilliant for people who like Lattes and Cappuccinos. Quick and easy with no additional frothing unit required.Reasonably priced.ConsNot as good for doing espresso as Nespresso. Less choice as well.Pods can be really expensive if you can't find them on offer. Okay they will still be far cheaper than high street coffee houses but still can be off puttingly expensive at times. If you see a good offer - stock up.The tiny water reservoir doesn't do too many drinks especially if you are using two disc drinks like Lattes. However it is quick and easy to fill up so only a minor annoyance.VerdictDefinitely worth buying if you are a fan of milky coffee or longer Americano style drinks. However if you are an aficionado of espresso then this is not the machine you're looking for. However if you manage to get one of these at a decent price it is a good machine to have about the house and you could buy a cheap Nespresso to attend better to your espresso needs.
The pods make a third of a cup of coffee. I use two pods and add milk for every cup and it's still only two thirds full. Even the 'XL' pods only fill just over half a cup.The coffee pods are nice and they do a decent range. My favourite mix at the moment is a L'or Classique XL with a Suchard Hot Chocolate pod for a lovely, not-too-sweet mocha.Buying the pods from Amazon costs me around £30 a month and I usually drink a couple of cups a day.
Only had this for 24hrs and its simple to use. Got the hot chocolate. I've noticed there is still melted hot chocolate left in pod after use, quite a bit. Does anyone else found this. Would like to hear. Apart from what I think isca hiccup. I would recommend. It is noisier than I expected, but I love the steam clean after each pod. Great price too. Bought when 25% off.

Since I have it, I drink more coffee 😀 The look is 👌🏻It froths even the plant milk really good. The dispenser for the used capsules it’s quite big, and I like that it has an other one underneath, for the water what drips from the used capsules 👍🏻
Bought this just over a month ago as a replacement to our old Nespresso machine that packed up after many years of use. It was ideal nice and compact a bit fiddly to set up but once it was made a nice frothy coffee. But after 3 weeks of light use the milk frother would not work unless you pushed and held it in place and then the coffee would then become intermittent sometimes working sometimes not so have sent it back and gone for a different machine. It seems a very fragile and temperamental machine and as a gimmick it’s good but as an everyday use machine it’s not man enough for the job
Overall a good machine but fiddly to clean and occasionally the electronics have a mind off their own which the instructions fail to address adequately

I got into coffee during lockdown. My preferred brewing method of choice was a clever dripper (which is highly recommended if you want to brew well balanced immersion brew). I've never been one for espresso but as I got further into the world of coffee I wanted to try an inexpensive way of brewing that strength of coffee as I'm not in a privileged position where I can spend £1000s on an espresso machine and grinder.I started off by attempting to use a mocha pot to accomplish this. You CAN get good coffee out of a mocha pot. I was able to get good coffee out of a mocha pot but there are numerous downsides to this. It's easy to leave the pot on the stove too long and end up with burnt tasting coffee. It's easy to burn yourself on the pot. It takes a bit of cleaning up. Overall that process is hit and miss. It seems you can follow the same steps down to the letter twice over and get very different brews.Enter the Aeropress. I'm new to this process of brewing but I can say with high confidence that it's quick, easy and produces consistent results. The first brew I got out of this was very sour and highlighted the "fruit salad" tones the coffee claimed to have. I wasn't fond of this to drink but it highlighted to me that this thing was able to extract the flavour of the beans. The second brew I made I pushed down the plunger much more evenly. This yielded a more balanced brew from the same grinds. Once you've got the hang of this then that's it. You're making great coffee. Cleanup is easy. Just remove the filter cap and pop the puck out of the end. Give it a rinse and you're done.Personally for my morning brew I like to brew to the 1 cup mark then top up with hot water to make an Americana style coffee. But this thing is so versatile. I have also gotten great latte by adding the espresso strength coffee to milk. I've also added some cold water and poured over ice with a splash of milk for delicious iced coffee while it's been hot. It's a lot of fun tinkering with this thing. I've found the best results out of a finer, near espresso grind. It should be said though, the coffee this makes is NOT espresso. It lacks the crema because it lacks the sufficient pressure provided by an espresso machine in brewing. Now, I'm not personally a fan of crema, so I'm quite happy with the output and it certainly tastes better than what you'd get from many many cheap espresso machines. Just be aware that the output isn't actually espresso, just espresso strength. I'm personally fine with this. I've seen people do some crazy nonsense like getting a handle to increase the pressure but if you're going to those lengths maybe save up for an espresso machine.Overall if you love coffee, even if you have an espresso machine, give this a try. You might just have some fun and make some delicious coffee along the way.
I bought this mainly to use for travel, so was alarmed when the box it arrived in was hexagonal approx. 10cm by 30cm. But it needs that. There are 4/5 parts to it and they do take up a lot of room in the cupboard/drawer/travel bag. The parts don't fit together for storage. I think I should have got an Aeropress Go, but didn't know there was such a thing and the description said this was good for travel. It took me a while to work out how to use it but have worked it out now, so the screw on filter stays on and I can flip the filter and coffee into the compost bin. The coffee certainly tastes good. But I won't use it much because it is a bit big for most travel, and doesn't fit my travel mugs without taking the extra part (3).The parts are:1/2. The part you put the coffee in, which has a screw on/off part at the bottom for the filter and coffee, which sits in the cup. Because it is quite wide it may not fit in a narrower cup.2. The plunger.3. A very large part which you can use for narrower mugs. 4. A stand for the filter papers.
These things are just so convenient. I’m not somebody who has sophisticated enough tastes to tweak every little detail about my cups of coffee, but this makes consistently good cups and it’s so easy to clean up afterwards. When my last one eventually gave up the ghost, tried living with a cheap espresso machine for a couple of years. Now I’ve gone back to this and it’s so much better.

All the features of a standard Virtuo but at a special price. The water tank is slightly smaller than the standard Virtuo.
There is no doubt that the Vertuo system creates one of the best, if not the best, crema in coffee machine standards. There are different cup sizes (!) yet this is reflected in the size of capsule - bigger capsules, bigger costs. It's also got a great recycling system and is very quite for a machine. These four features are soon outweighed by the following caveats.I got my machine on an AW special, so it was grossly discounted (£40) versus a new machine cost (£200). Being a special it didn't come with a starter pack of capsules, but the 50 free capsule offer was still valid, with no strings attached, so that's a well appreciated plus point, thanks Nespresso! After the first week of sporadic operation, week two the machine worked as it should, then following weeks up until it's return, it would not brew drinks to the specific time, it would just keep running! Sometimes it would only run for ten seconds on a 230ml capsule, resulting in pressing the button 5+ times for repeat extractions (and wasted time). It was hardly ideal, and I suspect a fault with the machine. So this experience aside, there's another two caveats:The "freebies" part 1: the aeroccino is NOT included in the box and is available on redemption only, by entering into a 12 month minimum term subscription plan, that costs £17/month to begin with. That £17 becomes store credit, with the subscription you get an additional 10% "free"...but £18.70 loosely translates to about 30 or 40 capsules, enough for one drink a day, assuming your machine works!Freebies, part 2: two months free again means 1st and 6th month of said subscription effectively keeping you in your subscription for at least half the year, a total of almost £120 spent on coffee pods you have to drink. This is fine if you know you are you to use it, and/or can build up a collection of pods over the months if you don't use it as much.Secondly the Vertuo capsules can only be bought from Amazon or Nespresso directly. The latter is much cheaper, and has more choice, but starts at around £5 for ten capsules, up to around £6.70 for bigger, longer drinks. I think some pods are even 74p per pod, and you have to buy them as a minimum of ten pods at a time.In a lot of cases you can pick up an acceptably used machine for around £40, sometimes even less, but this is a false economy. It is the standard "razor and blades" model, and you're locked into buying only Nespresso only pods, adding further costs. Apparently there are ways around the barcode scanner, but for ease of operation, capsule flexibility, sheer range, you'd be better picking up a standard Nespresso machine.Incidentally, I got a refurbished Essenza Mini with an Aeroccino (in the same box) for a mere £55 elsewhere, and the two sizes of cup it produces (espresso 40ml and lungo 120ml), I am more than happy with that purchase.Bottom line: get a standard machine.
Happy with the purchase. Nespresso Vertuo is easy to use, to clean and gives a stylish touch to the kitchen. We are still having fun tasting the big range of Vertuo pods available to find our favourites.

This is my second Nespresso machine , I was more than happy with the first one, it had just got rather old but I am finding this one even better and enjoying using it very much
You pay for what you get. This machine is brilliant
I've owned 3 Nespresso machines over the years, all good. One leaked after several years, one I gave away. This one is my favourite. Any smaller would be a pain with frequent water refilling and used capsule tray emptying. For me the froth making attachments seem more trouble than they're worth - you won't get it like a barrister would but you have lots of cleaning to do every time. This compact machine easily provides good short espressos - just figure out which ones you like best.COFFEE NOT HOT ENOUGH? :(some reviews say the coffee is too cold)Once the machine has heated hold down the button with your cup in place, but no capsule, for a few seconds to heat up both the machine's pipes and your cup.Discard the water from your cup (into a second cup if making 2), add the capsule and use as normal.Note that this important pre-heating is a extra reason why buying a machine any smaller than this is probably a mistake - as you will run out of water too often.Personally I hold the button down manually for a longer coffee until I see the stream is weak - otherwise it tends to stop too soon when the capsule still has plenty to give.
